Epidemiolog Predrag Kon izjavio je da postoji obaveza da zdravstveni radnici budu vakcinisani protiv bolesti koje nisu preležali i da se odnosi na sve zarazne bolesti, pa i na kovid19.
Kon je za Pink rekao da u pandemijskoj situaciji deluje etički neprihvatljivo da „uđete u bolnicu zbog potpuno druge stvari i da dobijete koronu“, i dodao je „to moglo u periodu dok nije bilo vakcina“, ali da sada nije prihvatljivo da se tako nešto dešava. On je rekao da se „stalno stavljaju neke zablude u prvi plan, da je vakcina opasna“, iako je do sada „dve milijarde ljudi na svetu vakcinisano“ protiv virusa korona.
„Bez vakcinacije vraćamo se u zatvaranje i karantine„, rekao je Kon i dodao da „ne možemo da se ponašamo kao da nema vakcine i da zatvaramo sve“. Kon je podsetio da je na vrhuncu epidemije u Srbiji u jednom trenutku bilo nešto ispod 10.000 hospitalizovanih zbog kovid19 i da „ne očekuje“ da će se takav pritisak pritisak na zdravstveni sistem ponoviti.
